NATURE AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION SOCIETY OF ODISHA (NWCSO)
Nature & Wildlife Conservation Society of Odisha (NWCSO) was founded on 2nd October 1982.It is registered under the Society Registration Act, 1860 bearing registration no. 18864/4 of 1982-83as the first Society dedicated to the wildlife conservation in the State. This Society which has the Minister, Forest as its Chairman and the Director, Nandankanan Zoological Park as its ex-officio Honorary Secretary, is the oldest of such voluntary organizations of the State.
The Society was created initially with support of the State Government for helping the conservation efforts of the State and the Country and to create Public awareness, has achieved in holding a numbers of seminars, workshops, training programme, Competitions, exhibitions, expeditions, supporting research programme and has brought out number of publications both in Odia and English language including the State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan and on 'Bhitarkanika the Wonderland of Orissa'. Newsletters are released during important days like World Environment Day, Vanomahatsav and Wildlife week. It has already conducted "Mahanadi Parikrama" starting with Burla up to Paradeep and the Biodiversity survey of Eastern Ghat of Odisha region.
Publications or writings are registered in the name of “The Nature & Wildlife Conservation Society of Orissa, Bhubaneswar” and the “All Rights Reserved” discretion shall vest in the “President of Society"
